Engaging Artists through Remote Initiatives

As someone on a personal journey of discovering my Indigenous heritage, I feel deeply connected to the importance of learning, preserving and celebrating our culture. At epubsupport, an Indigenous-owned business, we believe in the transformative power of art and expression to tell stories, preserve culture and language, and inspire meaningful change for inclusion in digital content. Recently, I’ve had the unique opportunity to feature Indigenous artists in upcoming print and web projects, as well as other creative assignments throughout the year—and that’s where you come in.
Our next initiative is to create a comprehensive resource of Indigenous artists, showcasing tradition and unique style and native language skill sets. Perhaps you have a new flare on an older style and don’t know how to promote yourself or your art? This will allow us to authentically integrate Indigenous perspectives into different client projects, galleries and shows and offer our clients truly representative experiences. We invite artists specializing in traditional motifs, contemporary and innovative graphics, photography, painting, illustration, clay, jewelry, first language storytelling, or any other medium to share samples of their work and creative vision with us for an opportunity to get your art noticed.
The Artistic Gap
Despite the vibrant presence of Indigenous communities in the Atlantic provinces, there remains a noticeable lack of artwork that truly reflects these rich cultures and histories. Art is a powerful medium for storytelling and cultural preservation, yet too often, Métis and Mi’kmaw narratives are underrepresented in mainstream art galleries, exhibitions, and cultural spaces. We recognize the challenges that Indigenous artists face, particularly those in rural and remote areas, where opportunities can be limited and we want to help bridge that gap. Through this initiative, we aim to foster remote collaborations and connect artists from diverse communities across the country. By showcasing the rich tapestry of Indigenous creativity and cultural expression, we seek to provide a platform for artists to share their work and open doors to economic opportunities and cultural exchange.
If you are an Indigenous artist, we warmly invite you to submit a sample of your Artwork or language translation expertise. We are committed to privacy, fair compensation and recognition for all participating artists whose work aligns with our project needs. Your contributions will not only enrich a variety of projects but will also play a crucial role in celebrating and preserving the cultural heritage we value deeply.
